About Me

linda age 2 Hello, this is a picture of me aged two – obviously destined to become a nurse.

I am a Mum of three boys (now Men!) and a now retired, registered nurse with a Diploma in Nutritional Medicine. I gave up work and England several years ago and moved to Southern Spain with my husband and eldest son.We lived in a beautiful, quiet location and I had imagined a peaceful life, reading books, practising Yoga and studying Energy Medicine. This was not to be.  The last few years have been taken up with caring for various family members and  friends who were ill and trying to cope with, at times very high levels of stress. I became extremely tired, frustrated with life and discontented. Something had to change and I realised that it was mainly my attitude.

I had come to Spain to retire from nursing, give up caring for everyone and do things for myself – nourish my soul, rest……My reality is that I am a carer and hopefully I will always be ( I’d make a terrible patient!) I have come to realise this only recently and that through all of my years of nursing I have been at odds with the medical profession. I have witnessed 30 years of decline in the caring, holistic side of healthcare, a tremendous increase in the use of drugs and a dire lack of time allotted for listening, observing, understanding and treating.

Now through books and the internet I know that a huge wave of change is happening and I want to be part of it. The key words are Functional Medicine (as opposed to Dysfunctional Medicine?) – teaching people to stay healthy and take responsibility for managing their personal health. Now  I have decided to accept that my life cannot be one long holiday, that the internet is a necessary evil if I want to continue to be educated and to educate and that I really want to make a difference and be heard. I’m hoping that this Blog will be just one way of achieving that. I continue to educate myself, having completed courses such as Digestive Intensive from Andrea Nakayama, The Auto Immune Summit with Amy Myers, The Allergy Epidemic and Metabolic Healing. I am a Distributor of Sizzling Minerals, a natural plant based Mineral Drink that is helping many people Worldwide.

  1. Hi, so enjoyed meeting you yesterday and reading all your info today . As we talked about yesterday I’m trying to cut out refined sugar , what is the best substitute ? Honey , maple syrup or one of the sweeteners you mention ? Sue

    • Yes I enjoyed meeting you as well, it was a great evening. Thanks for stopping by my blog. There is a whole post on sugar detox if you go to the drop down Catagory box at the top of page and click on Sugar. I use honey and maple syrup a little, although you shouldn’t really heat honey as it destroys its health benefits. I don’t personally like sweeteners, Stevia tastes horrible. Some sweeteners have a worse effect on blood sugar and insulin than sugar. Coconut sugar is probably best if you can get it. I tend to sweeten cakes and biscuits with dates, raisins, honey or fruit juice depending on the recipe. As I mentioned Sizzling Minerals help blood sugar in several ways and we have some type 2 diabetics who have come off of their medication and this is due mainly to Chromium and Magnesium. Coconut water, milk and oil all have a good effect on candida and the probiotic Saccaromyces Boulardii is excellent for that and other gut infections that are frequently fuelled by sugar, as is cancer, so definitely worth cutting it out as much as possible. All the best. Have great holidays!

  2. I have so enjoyed reading your blogs. I have for years realised that what I eat affects how I am and have followed a very natural diet most of the time. I have learned so much from reading everything on your site tonight and will keep updated by popping back regularly and pass on info to friends and family.

  3. Hi Linda!!
It’s Bex from Loose. I have just been looking at your site and think it is completely brilliant. I hope I can get emails or newsletters as you upadte.
I have just finished a course in holistic massage and now studying reflexology. I think there is alot to be said for maintaining wellness and looking after your body and mind as a whole rather than always relying on over the counter or prescription medicines.
Anyway – I hope you are well and looking forward to having a longer look through your site!
    Hope you are all well
    Bex x

  4. Hello.Well done for voicing these words, and how right you are! My local GP looks more ill than her patients, she is so overwhelmed with work, I suspect. I’m so glad you are publicising the healthy value of the olive tree produce. The more folk who learn this, the better off they will be healthwise. Good luck with your fine web site. Your son is in the process of constructing our new website! He’s a fine lad. Dina

  5. Thanks milleniumhealth for sharing your story and inviting me to your blog. It is so important for people to know how to care for their health. Prevention is so much better than having to treat an illness. God Bless you and your family : )
